Twila is an "Own Tempo" Rockruff Twilight Cleric who grew up in the Ultra Megalopolis, a realm plunged into perpetual darkness by Necrozma. Thousands of years ago Necrozma saw the world created by Arceus and thought they could make one better so they split their essence and created Solgaleo and Lunala in the image of the Sun and Moon so that they would be familiar too the pokemon of Arceus's world. Solgaleo and Lunala made their appearance in Alola where they became accepted as benevolent Legendaries and came to care for their worshipers, but their parent Necrozma grew bitter. Solgaleo and Lunala eventually returned to the realm beyond space and brought with them some of their followers to create a world like the one they had enjoyed, but Necrozma's vision had twisted and believing that vices ruled these pokemon they created creatures of their own that embodied these deadly sins, ones that would become known as Ultra Beasts.

Necrozma was then struck down and drained of their light by a power hungry pokemon. Broken and weak they looked to reclaim the light of their children and restore themselves to power in order to get revenge on all the pokemon they feel had wronged them but instead they were sealed in the dark and left to fester in their hate and madness.

Twila has been raised to be a guardian of the Ultra Megalopolis, vigilant watchers and protectors who channel the powers of the two great Lights to guard the city from dangerous Ultra Beasts and look out for signs of Necrozma making moves to return.
