This, is Hydrax, Veil's sister. Once they escaped The Abyss together, they explored the fallen kingdom of Hallownest together, growing up together and evolving as time went on, though they didn't look like they aged much, but that changes when they open up their cloaks fully (pictures of that later ;3). Hydrax is unique, having been born with wings, something rare among the rest of their siblings. During their travels and exploration they encountered an unknown bug wearing a red cloak, she struck Hydrax with her needle and cracked her shell in between her right two eyes. It wasn't fatal, but it was an obvious weakspot. One day, they found an odd lantern with their Dream Nails, when they lit it, they summoned an odd group of bugs to the kingdom, they called themselves The Grimm Troupe. Their leader, Troupe Master Grimm, saw potential in Hydrax, though thought it was odd she didn't have a weapon, so he trained her in the ways of a very special weapon: The Nightmare Scythe.

Aside from being able to be used like a standard scythe, it has special abilities due to Nightmare Flames imbued into its very metal and shape. the blade can be ignited on command to deal deadlier blows, but if an enemy was far away, the blade can disconnect from the stinger-shaped part of the weapon, connected by Nightmare Flames similar to a rope or a chain to be flung like a hook to attack enemies from afar or to pull them close. But the blade can also be flung like a projectile and called back if needed, but without the main blade, the weapon can still be lethal by being used like a lance or spear at close quarters.

Once the training was complete Grimm and Hydrax bowed to one another, Grimm let the two know that they are welcome back anytime, and if they travel to far lands, they can summon the Troupe with Hydrax's new weapon. as they left the Troupe, they decided it was time....Hydrax would contain The Radiance. It wasn't easy, they fought against countless enemies to get to the resting Dreamers to break the seals and fought hard against the Pure, no, The Hollow Knight as it was called, once it fell, Hydrax focused and absorbed The Radiance within herself, and The Radiance, filled with rage and anger of being forgotten by the moth tribe it created, saw the journey of Veil and Hydrax, saw their bond, the friends they made along the way. Hydrax wasn't doing this for The Pale King, she was doing it to protect those she cared for, even understanding the rage The Radiance felt. This caused it to calm down and become reasonable. The two bonded, similar to how Veil and the Abyss Creature bonded, The Radiance allowing Hydrax to use its abilities in combat if needed, and Hydrax would spread the tale of The Radiance (minus the infection part) so it can be remembered, working in harmony as they travelled.
