Rooftop
Continuing with the time capsule theme of works created during my childhood and onward, this sketch was drawn during my freshman year of high-school and is among the early concepts for Rift. I'd found inspiration in the easy to read shape language of anime in years prior and had been at it for a little while by the time of drawing this.
I had a thing for tools that attached to one's wrist, likely inspired but early experiences with sling shots that had a fold up wrist brace. The tool in hand was a custom design. I don't recall what the one on a stand was inspired by, but odds are good the one on his hip was inspired by the Halo: Combat Evolved Magnum. This particular theme was largely inspired by the video games the likes of Perfect Dark and Oni. Wolfy had yet to be conceptualized as my main handle, as we can see I signed the image as Sliv'oth.
Beyond that, I have been in the habit of thinking up dramatic stories in which Wolfy, Rift, and Sliv'oth may have began existing in a separate mythos, and are drawn to each other by instinct/life circumstance/Sliv'oth Prime's grand design.
