I wanted to do a fancy oil painting inspired pic showing a dramatic moment in my Oc Prince Sylvanus's story as he wakes up after his cursing. His parents have been keeping vigil by his side all night & are relieved that Sylvanus is alive & awake but devastated at his cursing & his brothers deaths.

Oh, interesting! Does that mean he passed out from pain/the shock post-Cursing (since we saw him conscious right near the end of the tf) and was maybe carried home by some of the gaggle of servants that would be attending the princes on a hunting trip? Wonder if there were any Unicorn Repercussions for them too? Maybe not tf, or if so not as significant, but perhaps they are also Marked somehow? (since they would have had no more choice about going than the surviving Prince, but they did still participate)
Assuming there were servants to carry him home, and that he didn't just stagger home on unsteady hooves and collapse once he got there, of course...

my general thought was that the unicorn hunt was part of a bigger like overall hunting party going on. eg, like a week long trip out into the woods with a large camp set up. in that type of scenario a small portion of people would've been left behind at the main camp (eg some servants taking care of other game/making a meal for the returning hunters/general camp maintenance ect) and its those folks that raised the alarm when the Princes and their entire entourage didn't return at the expected time.
They were the ones that formed a search and found the gory remains of the hunting party and the cursed youngest prince. As for if any of the servants on the hunting party survived... well sadly no, The Unicorn that cursed the prince was in kind of a blind rage and the main thing that stopped it long enough to be even somewhat "merciful" was the it noticing Our prince's age. Its grief came from the hunters killing its own child afterall and it reasoned that the best way to end unicorn hunts for good (at least in this kingdom) was to leave a survivor, a marked one, one who would carry this traumatic event with them going forward.

Yeah his parents definitely haven't dejected him. That's mostly because they do actually love him and are in vast grief over so many of thier children dead in one go and only a teensy little bit because of the hell that having a succession crisis would be.
The implications for the wider kingdom are fun to think about because there is this huge hullabaloo about if this prince is even fit to lead as a cursed nonhuman ( and several lords are encouraging this as a start trying to vie for power)
