I was at my desk chatting with Amber Spark, my best friend from England. It’s already nighttime over there and the cold is brutal, so she’s all set to toast with her partner. ❄️🥂

Amber: —'I’ll just do the toast, and then I’ll hop online for a bit to welcome the new year on the server; there’s an event that looks pretty exciting'— she tells me with that trademark brace-filled smile. Classic Amber! 🐰💻

Amber: —And what about you, bestie? Do you have anything special planned... or maybe 'someone' in mind?— she suggests with a playful tone and a wink. 😉

Mallow: —Oh, stop it, hee hee. I was just planning on a very quiet night, finishing my book and not much else— I reply, blushing a little. ✨ —But then... the neighbor showed up, I’ve told you about her.

Right then, she appeared at the window carrying a huge box of meat and shouting with pure excitement:

Rena: —Mallow, look what my brother sent me! We’re having a New Year's BBQ tonight!— 🪵🔥 Before I could say a word, she ran off to find some firewood to start the flame.

Amber: —She’s got a lot of energy; I'm sure you won’t be bored with her— she winks at me again.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK, some taps on the window glass.

Mallow: —Amber, I’ve got to go, Rena’s back and she’s got a lot of wood!— I say, waving goodbye to the screen.

Amber: —Have fun, sweetie. Drink plenty of water for... you know why :3 — she smiles and disconnects before I can even talk back. 💦

Estaba en mi escritorio hablando con Amber Spark, mi mejor amiga de Inglaterra. Allá ya es de noche y el frío está fuertísimo, así que ella ya está lista para brindar con su pareja. ❄️🥂

Amber: —'Solo haré el brindis, y luego me meteré a jugar un rato para recibir el año en el servidor, hay un evento que se ve emocionante'— me dice ella con esa sonrisa llena de brackets que tanto la caracteriza. ¡Típico de Amber! 🐰💻

Amber: —Y tú ¿qué harás, amigui? ¿Será que tienes algo entre manos... o quizás a 'alguien'?— sugiere en tono coqueto y me guiña un ojo. 😉

Mallow: —Pero qué cosas dices, je, je. Yo pensaba tener un plan súper tranquilo, terminar de leer mi libro y poco más.— respondo algo sonrojada. ✨ —Pero entonces... apareció la vecina, ya te hablé de ella.

Justo en ese momento, llegó a la ventana cargando una caja enorme de carnes y gritando súper emocionada:

Rena: —¡Mallow, mira lo que me envió mi hermano! ¡Hoy hay barbacoa de fin de año!— 🪵🔥 Antes de que pudiera decirle nada, salió corriendo a buscar leña para encender el fuego.

Amber: —Tiene mucha energía, seguro no te aburrirás con ella— me vuelve a guiñar un ojo.

TOC TOC TOC, suenan golpes desde la ventana.

Mallow: —Amber, me tengo que ir, ¡Rena ya volvió y trae mucha madera!— le digo despidiéndome de la pantalla.

Amber: —Pásala bien, cariño. Bebe mucha agua para... ya sabes :3 — sonríe y se desconecta antes de que pueda responderle nada. 💦
