1 lb tofu
1 tb sesame oil
1 tb soy sauce
1 tb cornstarch
.25 c sambal oelek
1. Cut the tofu into inch-wide chunks and press for an hour.
2. In a bowl, toss tofu with sesame oil, soy sauce, and cornstarch.
3. Fry the tofu until it becomes golden-brown, then toss with sambal oelek. Serve immediately because it will not last in the refrigerator.
From Chris: Here, I will add that just a teaspoon of mirin will give this a bit more punch. This is also good to serve with your favorite ramen, chow fun noodles and etc!
Also try adding in some fresh chopped green onions to give it color and flavor, all according to your taste.
