Can he even handle the recoil?

Oh no, that device has very little recoil. Indeed, it's quite possibly one of the very few projectile weapons a Yinglet could safely use. Best of all, the round has to rotate several times before it arms, so if you hit something too close, it won't detonate. The downside is that you have to aim it quite far downrange, and Yinglets aren't exactly known for their knowledge and understanding of Trigonometry.

That said, anything downrange is going to have a very "interesting" day.
