Tords are small, insectivorous, ground-dwelling avians native to Borion and are widely viewed as "pest" animals in urban and suburban environments. They are covered in protofeathers ranging from dull red to pale green, and have sparce, brightly colored feathers on their tails. Their wide, froglike jaws are full of large, blunt teeth used of crushing their prey. They travel in groups of 5 to 50 individuals, referred to as a "horde".
Tords are completely harmless to people, though larger ones may deliver a painful bite. Their teeth are too dull to break the skin in most cases.
Despite this, Tords seem to have no sense of fear of self preservation, and when disturbed, are known to open their mouths wide and use their strong hind legs to leap in the direction of the disturbance, biting whatever they touch with no discretion. Because of this, most people find Tords to be annoying at best, and often a straight up nuisance.
