in 1993 nintendo power released star fox comics drawn by benimaru itoh & in it it shows fox's mom, named vixy reinard.

& i just wanted to make my own version of her & have her share some features with fox bc that's his mom.

i didnt know fox had a canon mom! (like, of course he has a mom in general, i iust didnt know she had a design and everything)

she does in the 1993 nintendo power comics drawn by benimaru itoh!! they make it a point to say she looks similar to fara phoenix 😭 fox shows a photo of her. vixy, in the comics, was killed by andross bc he was in love with her & wanted to kill james (in the comics, called fox sr, while fox is fox jr... hates being called jr lol) so andross put a bomb in fox's dad's car but vixy used it instead and was killed :')

as for the 1997/64 continuity, fox's mother is never mentioned, but some issues of nintendo dream have rlly cute 4 panel gag comics and she is shown when fox is a child as a completely gray canine, maybe meant to be a silver fox!! i don't think she's referred to by any name in those, so ppl still call her vixy.

and then takaya imamura on twitter explained he had imagined fox's mother to be alive, but their relationship is strained/estranged due to fox following in his father's footsteps and leading star fox, which had led to her husband's demise, so they are not on speaking terms (tho, mr. imamura said he thinks she would later support him from the sidelines :'))

so!! it's all down to interpretation!! i made her look like a mix of her comic version + gave her fox's fur color & eye color i give him (which i base off zero/starlink!!)
