You twist and turn in tunnels tangled tight,
As dark descends around the daunting depths.
My maze was made to dance the mind alight
To free the mind in spinning, swirling steps.
The Labyrinth of Crete, the actual drawings, is a single spiralling path leading to the center. And Ariadne was far from a mere princess--she was a goddess, the Mistress of the Labyrinth, which was her dancing-way.
