Finally got them sewed in, this took almost 4 days and I'm not particularly happy with the size/layout. Blargh.

rad! the shape of the panel, due to inevitable similarities of garment construction, looks like a vest back to me. you're giving me ideas for my own projects ehehe.
more directly, the rosettes look spiffing, you seem to have gotten them really on/in there. the contrasting thread's a good idea to keep track, i like how its still coordinated though! very thoughtful. i see what you mean by perhaps wanting them bigger as that shows off on sneps better where the smaller spot-like rosettes are for "regular" leopards. but i think based on the illustrations i've seen of your character it fits. it will not look out-of-place to the outside observer, in other words. our own gripes with our work is why we never make just one even if everybody digs it ;3
you should find the other rosettes across the greater project to go more smoothly the more you build that muscle memory. love seeing how this is coming out for ya ^^

Ahh the shape of the panel is based off a basic t shirt, so a vest makes sense!
Rosettes wise, I was doing my best to balance between time needed to sew and not having gigantic rosettes that might not hold up since I doubt I could machine sew these. I'm going to try to add some smaller spots to see if that will help give the existing rosettes more sense of scale. Thanks for following along!

there's that garment construction similarity ;3
that makes sense, that kind of detailing is always done by hand, the effort expended jamming the layers of fur under the presser foot and desling with jams is pointless when considering hand-sewing techniques which have been developed for strength for many garments that tend to hold up over time and use without falling to pieces. lately i've become very impressed by the durability of my handsewing, yes, including with fur ^^
