Following the fall of the Covenant, one renowned Fleetmaster, Hurai 'Mayamee, became disillusioned by the feeling of war. The Covenant had been used for years to blind the Sangheili, he realised, and now that they were free, he wondered what else had been hidden from them.
And so, he gathered a crew of military dropouts and curious adventurers, as well as his own grand niece and nephew, Awrel and Jayli, and set out to explore. The Disquisitors remain a neutral party, simply wandering the cosmos and gathering information, questioning traditions and cultural norms, and working to strengthen all of the known sapient species among the stars.
Hurai 'Mayam: "A leader of legends, and fittingly, he carried a regal energy. The first eye-contact assured my trust in him. He had his hands folded behind his back, accentuating his wide chest and the aged wrinkles that clung to his neck."
Heya 'Yeiurai: "His name called him a Swordsman, and his armour called him a superior, but his eyes called him nervous. Who wouldn't be? He had big boots to fill."
Lin 'Vadam: "One day a housewife, the next an explorer. She could barely hold a rifle, but her hearts beat stronger than those of any of the warriors around her."
Lin is a Keep Wife from Vadam Keep. The Disquisitors accidentally kidnapped her during a visit, after Awrel invited her up on the ship to perform his "swordsmanly duties", and the couple accidentally slept through the fleet's disembarkment from Sangheilios.
Naz 'Shenen: "She seemed so excited, so naive. She had a charm to her, and I truly hoped that she could handle whatever was to come."
Zen 'Vadam: "His Keep, his bloodline, ruled over Sangheilios, and it was no surprise the level of jitter in the young male's tone, or how quickly he rushed to detail his skills to me. The honour of a name so great to wield could be equally as heavy to drop."
Reason for Removal from Sangheili Military Service: Flunked out of military training academy.
