Following the fall of the Covenant, one renowned Fleetmaster, Hurai 'Mayamee, became disillusioned by the feeling of war. The Covenant had been used for years to blind the Sangheili, he realised, and now that they were free, he wondered what else had been hidden from them.
And so, he gathered a crew of military dropouts and curious adventurers, as well as his own grand niece and nephew, Awrel and Jayli, and set out to explore. The Disquisitors remain a neutral party, simply wandering the cosmos and gathering information, questioning traditions and cultural norms, and working to strengthen all of the known sapient species among the stars.
Tog-Ker: "His bright energy was clouded with inexperience. I wondered if he had ever actually felt the bite of war before."
Reason for leaving the Covenant/Military Service: Snapped back (literally) too many times at an especially rude female superior.
Kam-Neb: "I had never in my life seen a shy Kig-Yar before. She seemed sweet, but she flinched at my approach. She was not a fan of close-quarters, she had muttered in barely more than a whisper."
Reason for leaving the Covenant/Military Service: Incapable of handling close-range combat due to her tendency to panic and Anthropophobia. However, she is an excellent markswoman.
Gra-Tsu: "She was mature, with an odd calmness for her kind. This only melted into alert when my attention turned to the Unggoy beside her. They were her charges, I had been warned, and pity to those who bothered her charges."
Reason for leaving the Covenant/Military Service: Decided that Unggoy are the cutest, most adorable little baby guys to ever exist. Had trouble getting along with Kig-Yar who don't respect her Unggoy. (Read: If you upset them, she will bite your face off without hesitation).
Feyfey: "He was hiding, even from my view. That was not the odd part. The odd part was where he was hiding: behind one of the Kig-Yar, his trembling fingers locked on her leg."
Reason for leaving the Covenant/Military Service: His level of cowardice is immense even for his species. It takes very little effort to have him crying, dropping his weapon, and running.
Yatay and Kikek: "Their armour hadn't been tested much yet, but Kikek's muscle and Yatay's curiosity assured me that I would not regret meeting them."
Reason for leaving the Covenant/Military Service: The Covenant's fall.
Gorog: "I had never felt nervous around an Unggoy before, but the look in his eyes made me double-take. His once-onyx armour was stained with years of what I presume was not his own blood."
Reason for leaving the Covenant/Military Service: (See Gamag's)
Gamag: "I don't know which glare burned hotter: the one from his dark right eye or from the unseeing left. He looked as if he believed he had the strength of a Mgalekgolo, in the little body of an Unggoy."
Reason for leaving the Covenant/Military Service: Repeatedly ganging up on rude Sangheili superiors and kicking them in the shins. Their shipmaster thought it was hilarious, and let them off the hook, but his Fleetmaster eventually told him to get rid of them.
