this day at work, 2 people who worked in the same place as me (though in a completely different team) got laid off.
one of them had already told me about it, and i was also aware of their last day, as we had been discussing it more or less consistently throughout his last weeks of employement there.
Although he was pretty laidback about it, and not too worried, it was still disconcerning seeing him get laid off.
It was especially disconcerning that he told me another coworker, one who actually had recommended me to the same company, was also getting laid of that same day, something i hadn't known until he told me about it this day.
