I’ve thought through and through the polemics of drawing real human figures in a sexual, sometimes unconventional scenarios—I feel guilty, but I can’t stop myself.

Anyway, this is Djeserkheperure Setepenre Horemheb, the guy from ancient Egypt’s 18th dynasty, New Kingdom period. He had a humble upbringing and eventually climbed the status ranks—soldier, then scribe, then General during Tutankhamun’s rule, and finally Pharaoh until his death to which he passed the role of supreme leader to his vizier, Paramessu, who would change his name to Ramesses and become the founder of the Ramesside period.

I’ve had a crush on Horemheb for a big, long while—late February, early March—and here I drew him with some skimpy mummy “wraps”, if you would even call them that. I also made him look a little silly, just to keep things lighthearted.
