runerus are dreamer NPCs found in chapter 4 of the ancient world. they appear to be the dreamification of ancient artifacts belongin' to chinese monks in the froggitland Museum. the runerus have two variants: the first are the followers, found in the void area of ​​the ancient world. according to several runerus, these ancient dreamers were the ancestors of the runerus. the second is an enemy variant known as redmonk jiangshi or sanguine monk. It's said that these enemies resulted from several runerus bein' exposed to the light of the redmoon and transformin' into these aggressive dreamers. there is an NPC named goner runerus who tells of a segmented tail with a hand, pursued by an unnamed child. In the japanese localization, the runerus mix Mandarin with archaic Japanese. they are dreamers with an appearance similar to that of a monk or a zombie vampire. they have blue fur with a red nose, closed eyes, dark and purple clothin', and a mostly dark hat. they have red buttons on their monk's robes and a red pom-pom on their hats.
