Well, this is a little craft project I've been working on for the last four days, after seeing an image in a history magazine of a copy of a medieval decree and admiring the decoration and outline of the page.
It occurred to me to make my own version, but with a furry fandom theme. So, after much thought and more than five different sketches (haha), I finally arrived at this version. I grabbed a pencil, a sheet of cardstock, and an eraser and started designing and drawing the final design.
I drew inspiration from videos of furry conventions and meet-ups, noticing the variety of different species in fursuits. The ones that stood out the most, and to no one's surprise (lol), were wolves and dragons.
However, I also wanted to include two other species that aren't as common, at least not in fursuits.
So I decided to include a wild rabbit, obviously referencing herbivorous animals since there aren't many of them (at least not in the videos and official pages I checked).
And I also included an eagle. This is because, like with the rabbits, I didn't find many examples of this animal as a fursuit, and because I couldn't think of any other animal to put in the empty space.
Finally came the most tedious part: painting everything by hand with a brush and watercolors.
The most complicated part was painting the vines, the plants, and also the smallest details. This took me approximately three days, between painting and experimenting with color combinations to find the tones that best matched what I had in mind.
And this was the result. Personally, I think it looks quite good, although I still don't know what to put inside (I don't know whether to add text or use it as a background for a photograph).
I hope you like it, and I'm also open to suggestions for what to add and constructive criticism that can give me advice or ideas to improve my work.
