It wasn't supposed to be a complicated mission. Get in, make contact with an agent who'd gone off comms, assess the situation and bring her back home safely.

There was a little trinket it was suggested he pick up along the way. Not at the expense of his agent's well being, of course. HQ was more than prepared to use less subtle measures to obtain it should it slip out of his grasp.

All things considered it was an assignment fit for a cadet—or a commanding officer who'd been sitting behind a desk for too long and needed to stretch his legs. He didn't expect it would turn into this.

She should have exhibited more discretion. It's only natural that protecting time involves keeping secrets. If everybody knew everything then... well, there'd be chaos.
