Another Yria character portrait, created by integrating a client’s character into the world of Yria. This piece came with a strong, fully formed lore of its own, and together we shaped a story that could naturally belong within Yria’s mythos.
Kunikulus, unlike any other creature, was born as a fragile sprout, stumbling through life and the vast desert that surrounded him. For a long time, survival was all he knew. Then, one day, something shifted. A transformation took place, changing him into the form he carries now. Yet his inner core remained, quietly holding the power to create life even in the most barren places.
That power revealed itself when Kunikulus, weakened from wandering the desert for too long, reached the brink of death. Finding only hardened rock beneath him, he broke through it and life erupted. What little energy he thought he had left surged outward, splitting the ground, filling him with strength, and transforming the land into a lush forest. These are the kinds of stories people whisper about when they encounter sudden patches of green where the earth once seemed dead and unyielding.
In this painting, I wanted to honor the client’s original lore while weaving it into the dynamics of Yria. What better expression of that than life bursting upward through fractured ground? Pieces like this are especially rewarding, as they push me to tell complete stories within a single frame rather than across sequences. It’s a very different challenge, one that requires decisive storytelling in a single moment.
I hope you enjoy! :D

In the world of barren wastes I can only imagine how powerful his skills are if he can create life just like that
And only gods knows why he was granted such gift but from what I hear he is definitely a humble and peaceful being - nobody other than him probably could weild such power without abusing it
Beautiful piece of art so intense yet wholesome and peaceful
He can be somewhat of Buddha of this world judging by the vibes this guy emits
