Anothter posting from my Equestria dreamscape. Recently I had in my sleep succeeded in creating a horrible monster in Twilight's kitchen http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6272094/ . The fallout of that was Twilight immediately sending a letter to Princess Celestia and then informing me that first thing in the morning we'd be traveling to Canterlot to see her. Well things moved faster than that.
At about five in the morning we were woken by someone knocking at the library door. Outside we found three pegasus of the Royal Guard and a waiting sky chariot. In quick order and without much explanation myself, Twilight, Petina and Spike were piled into the chariot and we were on our way to Canterlot. The third pegasus paid a visit to Fluttershy's home to retrieve one of the whookits I had also created http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6271825 . In no time we were landing at the palace and being quickly escorted to an atrium garden on palace grounds. We were told to stay there and then our escorts departed.
Several minutes later after sunrise a small entourage arrived in garden with Princess Celestia at the head. With practiced grace and efficiency the servants set up a table with a breakfast spread on it and silk cushions for us to sit on. Then with equal grace the servants departed leaving us in alone in the garden.
At this point formal introductions were made. Now I was afraid I'd find myself utterly tongue tied however I found much to my surprise it was very easy to speak to Celestia. So my first impressions of the Ruler of Equestria. The closest comparison I think of is to compare her with one the high elves from Tolkien's Middle Earth. Fair, beautiful and terrible to behold. Her essence exudes Royalty.
However having now met her face to face I better understand the other ponies relationship with her. It is my impression that ponies do not worship Celestia as much as they revere her. She is not some deity worshiped out of fear and dread, but instead she is someone that the ponies try to by like. She is a role model which other the ponies look to for inspiration and hope. Each one striving to find that little bit of Celestia in them. And no pony wants to fail her, for I am left with the feeling that far worse than any cursing she could give you the look of disappointment in her eyes would be far more terrible to behold.
Now I was expecting to receive relentless questioning from her Highness but much to my surprise we instead had a very pleasant breakfast in garden. She asked me several questions about my impressions of Ponyville and the ponies I'd met there. She examined the sketches that I've drawn but had not transformed into three dimensional objects. She examined the whookit that the one guard had retrieved from Fluttershy's home. She then asked me to draw something and bring it to live. As a result the palace garden now has one more butterfly. She also cast a couple spells on me.
It was her opinion that all the creatures I had created possessed a unique individual spark of existence which meant they were actually living beings and not magically animated props of my magic. She also determined that their creation was not tapping into my or any other ponies vitality, life force, or soul. This made Twilight feel better but she was still very bothered that I could wield such powerful magic since she could find no reference to any other pony possessing the talents I was exhibiting. Although Twilight's comments did result in Celestia giving me a couple of very penetrating stares; as if she was trying to pierce some mask that hid my true nature from her.
Meanwhile I was starting to wonder where this whole discussion was heading since Celestia had not yet asked me any real probing questions about my past or where I had received my schooling. On top of that I was very certain that our little breakfast in the garden was wreaking havoc on the Princess's carefully choreographed schedule of audiences and meetings. Still here we sat in the garden and enjoyed our scones and tea. What I was soon to find out was that Celestia had a test planned for me.

This stuff is so strange and fantastical.
I am partially envious of your ability to have such wonderful dreams, but not so much envious of the dark side of that.
I have strange dreams, and when I wake up... I seem to have the ability to fall asleep again, after consciously waking, and go right back into the dream. It's so odd.
Anyway, these sketches are amazing, and I'm very intrigued as to where this is all going, if these dreams actually have a set conclusion.

Yeah, she is revered, loved and admired by the ponies, and in many ways that makes their respect for her even more wonderful. They strive to serve her, and in return Celestia works to be worthy of that respect. It is an interest case of natural checks and balances.
Oh good! I've been waiting for another of these.
I still find it curious that Princess Luna hasn't been involved yet. Surely dreamers (both you and how Paynes Gray has been influencing you) are part of her talents? Or maybe my thoughts are premature...
("...someone that the ponies try to be like" I think you mean, based on the context.)

I really need to make sure I read all of these, because along with the fantastic sketches (you draw a mean Celestia!), this dreamstory is really fascinating. I mean, HiE is kind of hit or miss for me, but at the very least, this is based on 'real' events, and I think that's what has my full attention.
Not to mention I never have dreams this coherent from one night to the next.

Whoops, forgot my audience there. Human in Equestria is a trope of fanfiction. It tends toward the self-gratification end of the spectrum and is generally frowned upon, at least by people who actually give a damn about things like plot and character.
This is the right way to do HiE, in my opinion.

There is one thing that several people have commented about my dreamscapes and that is they seem to generally avoid the Mary Sue problem. They don't seem to be so much fantasy/ wish fulfillment as they are my subconscious mentally grappling with various concepts and ideas. Heck in several of the dreamscapes I have never appeared. I just watch my characters go through their lives and dealing with triumphs and tragedies that confront them.
Um, I'm not really certain. As long as I can remember I have been able to remember most of the dreams I have. I still can remember some from my childhood including some really terrifying night terrors. I guess a part of my subconscious never grew out of the idea of having "imaginary friends" it just realized that it was just better for me to have playtime with them in my sleep.
I don't mean to give a pile of homework but you might get a better idea of situation if go through my entire gallery. Yes I know that is a lot of stuff; don't do it all at once. However you must understand that probably 75%+ of everything you see on FA is coming from my sleep/ dreamscapes. At first I did not comment much on it since I was uncertain how people would respond to it since most average folks I explain this to act as if I have suddenly grown a third eye! However on FA I have found a community that seems to be genuinely interested in these stories. It is for that reason that I have been working on book about my longest dreamscape Andur http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4816484/

I really enjoy how you made Celestia look here, going from regal in upper left to warm and friendly in the central part to almost seductive at bottom right. Umm, just don't tell her that, I'm sure her highness doesn't need to hear that bipedal anthropoids think she has the presence of an attractive woman.
And I so wish I was visiting the Ponyville and Equestria you've been seeing, rather than the one I see in my dreams. Suffice to say that "Cupcakes" Pinkamena isn't nearly as much fun in person as you'd think. Especially when she gets angry at you for running out on her 'parties'.

Thanks. I have to admit that I thought really hard before doing any sketches of her since I wanted to capture that sense regal and yet approachable in one character. In many ways Celestia personality reminds of my character Breenoah Farland http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4242602/ ; an elegant yet caring individual who is refined yet not afraid to take on difficult and sometimes messy tasks.
Damn I need to recheck your gallery a few more times.
Also spot in,Celestia also reminds me of something out of the Sailor Moon manga/anime,shes just too good, then again after seeing a commercial with some footage of season 2 with her looking....badass,I must say I would rather enjoy seeing her in a different but certanly not grotesque light.
Also you should do Luna too.

I kind of like the depiction of Lune in the fanfic "Progress", as being a rather shy "young" mare who is still highly intelligent and working hard to reconnect with the ponies around her. And I agree on the "Luna's not a Goth" attitude, even if it shows up in a comical nightmare scene in the aforementioned story.
I can't stop looking at her. She looks incredibly majestic here. And every time I look at her, ominous, "royal" kind of music (think The Ten Commandments) starts playing in my head. I'm no fan of the show (in fact I could be the only person in all of FA who hasn't watched it), but this piece is awesome.
