Resurfaced: Amur Tiger (2018 Remaster)
I decided to dig into my archives and revisit some old RAW files from May 2018 with modern software and fresh eyes.
Long-time watchers might remember a similar shot I posted years ago. This is actually a different frame from that same split-second burst sequence. Back then, I was using a Canon 77D and didn't have the editing tools I have today. It's amazing to see how much detail and color depth was actually hiding in those files!
π Comparison: You can check out the original upload from 2018 here (Note: This is a sister shot from the same burst, taken just a split-second apart, so the pose differs slightly): https://www.furaffinity.net/view/27689686/
Species: Amur Tiger / Siberian Tiger Tech: Canon 77D, 135mm, f/5.0
Technical P.S. : Just to be clear: This image contains no Generative AI. Nothing was added or invented. The difference in quality compared to the old upload is simply due to processing the original RAW file with modern Lightroom Classic. Back in 2018, I didn't have the software or the skills to extract all the color and detail that was actually hidden in the file.

You are absolutely spot on! I have other shots from this exact same encounter, but taken from a lower angle. In those, the water looks completely green and murky.
It was really that specific top-down perspective that caught the sky reflection and turned the water into that thick, blue 'oil'. Itβs amazing how much the angle changes the entire mood!
