EDIT: Decided to change my redesign for Sirius to make him resemble a sesame Kishu (inspired by Raine-of-Auroria's redesign for Koyuki). I also tweaked Orion's forehead markings.

My first official new art of 2026! I decided to update my designs for Weed's kids in my Ginga AU as I ended up changing my mind about not having Sirius exist. HOWEVER, I decided to rewrite his character so that he's not the same toxic idiot that he was in The Last Wars. I mean, just because I don't particularly care about the guy doesn't mean that I can't try to fix him, right? And as for my old Weed x Koyuki kid Mintaka, I plan on recycling her as Rigel's daughter.

Sirius is the biggest pacifist out of all his siblings (NOT in a dumb toxic way like his canon counterpart), and is a peacekeeper who prefers to talk things out over fighting. However, during the war against Monsoon, he learns that this doesn't always work and that there are times where you have to fight back when necessary. After trying and failing to convince Monsoon that he doesn't need to hurt others, Sirius is forced to deliver the killing blow on the evil bear when he's about to kill Orion. Even though he didn't want to do it, he just couldn't let Monsoon kill his brother.

When Weed later steps down as the supreme commander, Sirius allows Orion to become the new leader of Ohu instead of him, as he felt that he was a more worthy leader. He never finds a mate of his own, being perfectly content as a single male.

Orion is pretty much the same as he is in canon, being the most rude and impulsive out of all his siblings, but also having a strong sense of justice. Despite his attitude, Orion cares deeply about his family and won't hesitate to help them if they're in danger. He has matured as he grew older, and while he tends to disagree and butt heads with his siblings, he still strongly believes in protecting Ohu and his family at all costs.

Orion later becomes the new supreme leader of Ohu after Weed retires from the role. He becomes mates with Sunny* and has three pups named Ryūsei, Yama and Sora.

Rigel, much like his brother Orion, had a foul mouth as a pup, but calmed down a bit as he got older. As an adult, he's both kind and courageous like his father Weed, but can also have a bit of a temper. Rigel is the most strategic and cunning out of all his siblings, and is more or less the brains of the group.

Rigel later becomes mates with Andy, and the two of them adopt an abandoned puppy that they name Mintaka.

Bellatrix is the most sassy out of all her littermates. As a young pup, she often messed with her brothers and chewed them out for acting dumb and treating her like a girl (basically, I'm just using her personality from The First Wars spinoff manga). After being separated from her brothers following the eruption, Bellatrix learns how to fight from Akame's three grandsons and ends up becoming an honorary Iga dog of sorts. As an adult, Bella refuses to act fragile or demure during confrontations, and is just as much of a fighter as her brothers.

Bellatrix later becomes mates with Yamabiko, and has two pups named Eiko and Hiroki.

Betelgeuse is the youngest out of Weed's five pups and is the spitting image of his late grandmother, Sakura. As a pup, he's the most timid out of the bunch, wishing to be more brave like his dad and Orion. But after being separated from his family following the eruption, Betel and a few other puppies who survived are left to fend for themselves, which is of course easier said than done. The pups are later found by a dog named Ayame (more on her later), who is on a mission to stop her cruel sister from hurting other dogs despite how afraid she is, and this inspires young Betel to be more brave. Ayame turns out to be a very good role model for him, and when the Ohu Army goes to war against Monsoon, Betel ends up being a very courageous soldier.

Betelgeuse later becomes mates with Freya (OC daughter of Mel who I have yet to design) and has three pups named John, Smith and Sakura.
