I don't see Henry as a "bad guy". I know some people do. To me, he's just a product of his time and his circumstances. He's mean, but that's different from being evil.

Imagine living a hardscrabble life, beset on all sides by grubby extortioners and thieves (while being little better than a thief yourself), and then finding yourself taken "prisoner" for a crime no more serious than stowing away on a private boat—and one belonging to an alien creature who had no right to be there, at that. You'd feel yourself entitled to cause some property damage. It would be understandable if you held a grudge.

Maybe he's too stubborn to change his ways entirely, but every being deserves a chance at peace (even if it requires giving them a wide berth).
