Bringing back some old horse OC’s, just cuz. The mare is Rowan, and the stallion is her mate Phantom.

Phantom’s story is intertwined with his brother Spear whom I’ve drawn + shared before. But anyway, when Phantom and Spear came of age and left their original herd, they had a lot of sibling arguments and clashes over how they were gonna survive together alone, which then caused them to temporarily split up.

On his own, Phantom fell into a raging river and was almost swept to his death before he was rescued by humans who brought him to a horse sanctuary to have his injuries treated. There he met Rowan, a domesticated mare who lived at the ranch. However she was an outcast and often depressed, as she was made fun of by the broodmares for being infertile and unable to have her own foal like she wants.

Phantom lifts her spirits during his stay at the sanctuary, and they fall in love. Once Phantom is healed and able to be released back into the wild, he encourages Rowan to run away with him. Later on they reunite with Spear- who now has a mate, foal, and herd of his own. Rowan finally gets to become a motherly figure to her niece and other foals in the herd, while Phantom and Spear are on good terms again.

As for Spear’s side of the story, I’ll draw him and his family later. Wanted to include them in this post too but drawing Phantom and Rowan alone was exhausting, I’ve been out of practice drawing horses lol
