The last of the TH:TSG APOC pieces I did in 2022. This was about when I started switching over to smaller/more focused pieces to tell stories rather than entirely wide battlefield/city scape ones. They were fun for sure, but a lot of times less is more...
Anyway... Have a AH-1Z Viper fighting insurection assholes in San Fran.
King Snake I/II/III are a trio of helicopters stationed at USMC Maintience Airfield Base Gillis during the San Francisco Incident in which retired Capt. Tammy Mishakawa reactivated her service status to run serious hours to keep her home area safe. She had flown these helicopters for decades and was running every ounce she had to give.
When one of the Vipers would run out of ordinance or fuel, she would land, switch to the next viper, then take off to continue while the ground support crew readied the next and so on. Often the days of the few months of the outbreak, Capt. Mishakawa would pull 15+ hr flight rotations running off the least amount of sleep she could and as much coffee as one human could handle.
Her, her weapons officer Sgt. Leslie Haggar, and the Ft. Gillis crew are credited with being some of the most important single patrol unit group on the Eastern sector of the quarentine zone.
