I don’t know if it’s my own perverted eyes choosing to see things this way, but so many of your drawings seem to show VPL. (And that’s not at all a bad thing 😁)

Assuming VPL means what I think it means (I had to look it up), I wouldn't really say I'm applying it in my work. Though I'll admit I might draw in an, ahum, well-shapen bulge every now and then (especially in commissions where, if it's in the refs, I consider it part of the design :Þ)

I meant “VPL” in the sense of “visible panty lines”. The term is often used for women’s clothing, but it also can be applied to men who wear briefs 🩲 under their clothes.

Essentially, it means that you can see the outline of the leg-bands of the person’s underpants showing through their pants. Like the bull in this artwork, for example. It looks like you can see where the leg-band openings of his briefs are showing through his wrestling singlet. VPL can often occur with tight jeans, too, & I think I see it when looking at some artwork featuring Nick.

Again, this might just be a case of me seeing things that I want to see but that actually aren’t there, because underpants (particularly briefs) happen to be a kink I have, so it might just be me 😆

Those lines are a quirk of my style. I generally like to define the edge between the legs and hips in my line art. Also, because it plays into me often drawing tight pants and suits in my comic and commissions.

Is it a classic trope for heroes to give a bear hug?

It's kinda tropey for villains to give heroes one when they're battling.
