Background

With both of her parents dying when she was extremely young, Miyuki Moriyama, or “Yuki” for short, was left on the streets as an orphan before being taken in by a Judo master when she was 5 years old. She was raised in the master’s dojo, and he noticed her incredible fighting potential when she was 6, leading to him training her personally along with the rest of her students. With time, Yuki grew to love Judo, believing it to be the greatest martial art ever. At the same time, though, she chafed under the master’s strict, no-nonsense tutelage. Driven all but crazy with boredom and restriction, the young girl found her outlet through getting into fights, pranking/messing with people, and generally causing mischief. While the dojo master loved her like his own daughter, her mischievous ways caused him no small number of headaches.

As Yuki aged into her teenage years, she developed a habit of sneaking out of the dojo in search of more thrills, such as acting as a bouncer, playing pranks on the town, or getting into street fights, often making huge sums of money by basically betting on herself and winning the fights easily. However, when she was just 17 years old, it all came crashing down when the master of one of Yuki’s street fighting victims burst into her dojo and challenged her own master to a match out of revenge. Not only did Yuki’s master lose the battle, but he was beaten so badly that he was crippled for life, ensuring that he could never fight again. Devastated, Yuki took it upon herself to avenge her master a year later, and through a hard-fought battle, she succeeded, claiming the rival dojo’s sign as a trophy.

For the next few years, Yuki tried to go straight and leave behind her life of debauchery in honor of her master. Unfortunately, that old itch came back as she grew bored with the straight-and-narrow lifestyle. She sought freedom more than anything else, and once again, the cycle repeated. Driven by the desire to avenge Judo as an art and prove its superiority to all other martial arts, Yuki started her career as a dojo buster at age 26; she found martial arts dojos all over the world and challenged their champions and masters to fights. Through a combination of physical and psychological warfare honed through years of mischief, she conquered each opponent she faced, claiming their dojo signs (and, in many cases, their belts) as trophies. She made sure that nobody who fought her would ever forget her name.

However, when Yuki was 32 years old, it all came to a head when she met a certain someone. She had heard rumors of a woman named Rosalyn Williams, who had very recently opened her own dojo in Neon City. She heard that Rosalyn was a legendary adventurer and martial arts master who had studied and mastered multiple different styles. Far from intimidated, Yuki was thrilled at the prospect of taking down someone so strong. Thus, she went to Rosalyn’s dojo and, seeing that Rosalyn was away, defeated her students in battle – including her daughters, whose belts she also took away – to send a message. And that message was received loud and clear…

Answering Yuki’s challenge, Rosalyn confronted the Judoka, and the two engaged in battle. Yuki learned firsthand that the rumors about Rosalyn’s power and skill were true, and though she managed to hold her own for a while, Rosalyn was simply the better fighter, claiming the win and taking back the belts that Yuki had stolen. Realizing that there are fighters who are strong enough to stop her from proving her superiority, Miyuki was enraged yet also excited by the prospect and wants a rematch with Rosalyn, becoming another rival to her.

Fighting Style & Abilities

Having been trained for many years, Yuki is an extremely strong and capable martial arts master. Her fighting style is quite aggressive, based on her mastery of Judo combined with her own style of striking. Her primary focus is grappling and groundwork, possessing an assortment of powerful and versatile throws, locks, chokes, and other grappling techniques. While she does make use of striking techniques such as palm strikes, chops, kicks, and stomps, their primary purpose is to open her opponent up to her deadly throws.

Backing up Yuki’s fighting style is her colossal physical strength, gained through her years of training. She can easily hurl men three times her size across a room and even through walls, and with only her bare hands and feet, she can crush walls, boulders, lampposts, and even huge chunks of buildings. Another testament to Yuki’s strength is her ability to cause tremors in the ground that can trip up her opponents just by smacking or stomping on the ground. She also has the resilience and endurance to match her strength, allowing her to stay in a fight for a very long time even when she’s outmatched.

Even when her grappling and throwing abilities aren’t enough, Yuki has one deadly secret weapon: her mouth. Honed through her years as a prankster and occasional con artist, she’s a master of the ancient art of being extremely annoying, able to quickly deduce exactly what buttons to push and how to send her opponent into a frenzy. She often relentlessly taunts her opponents during battle, both for her own amusement and as a means of leaving them too distracted, sloppy, and reckless to fight properly, allowing her to get the upper hand. It seems that no matter who her opponent is, Yuki can always find some way to get under their skin.
