"The Pursuing Echo was a fine and reliable ship.. most of the time. All ships that went through a retrofit of her caliber, usually ended up with a few quirks. Some had booster malfunctions on takeoff or have life support disable during an inopportune moment. Gwynn thought it was lucky that his ship never had any critical troubles, however one problem in particular drove him up the wall. In between every few maintenance cycles, the central gravity stabilizer would throw a fit and cause fluctuations with the power conduits throughout the main corridors. This time Gwynn had about reached his limits with this little side effect, as the source of the issue had been jumping to a random junction panel with the span of a few minutes. Akin to squashing a bug scattering around in the kitchen, but that you can't quite catch in time. Gwynn was ready to use the kill spray, as it were, with a complete ship wide power cycle, even if it did cause a multi hour delay on this 'expedient' cargo run. "I got you now" Gwynn muttered, as he managed to route the current into a loop on the panel in front of him. "Just this aux cable here annnd.." BZZT. The panel flickered and once again the source had jumped to another location. Gwynn sighed his frustration, wishing he had a crescent wrench right now, grabbed his tools and turned to float down the corridor, looking for the next panel to open."
A little snipit in the day to day life of a cargo ship runner, as you never know what you'll what trouble you'll find on the float. A fantastic piece done by wonderful Kirena-kaya, as she executed the idea perfectly. I'll definitely need some more zero-g pieces done up now.
