Because I posted something starring them, I figured I should post their ref here, too.
If you wanna see the art they're in, my gallery can be found here: https://t.me/+-FvQ-xPnmQswMDAx
Also, the Fae lore involved is based heavily on Changeling: The Lost, with a smattering of its WoD counterpart Dreaming, and bits of Exalted, Dresden, and real folklore. If the idea of "Fae fighting the forces of AI Slop" interests you, the link's here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....vtI3Qw3N35uVE/

Yesh, which is funny since they're so bubbly, you would expect them to prefer Spring, but then you learn they're a lot more Machiavellian a person than it might seem, and they do genuinely believe in the ethos of making mankind stronger and bringing out people's best through strife against a shared enemy.
Basically, Christianity is a particular value system and mythology they personally resonate with, despite it being the thing that diminished their power in a lot of worlds by pushing out worship of the old faiths. Though, as Paph themself will admit, being worshipped tends to make someone a bit of an asshole, so they aren't especially cut up about that.
It does make for some awkward conversations with other Fae, occasionally, though.
As funny as imagining them in a Church would be, their worship is a personal, private affair that's largely kept to trying to live by the ideals that attracted them to the Gospel, the necklace a reminder of that.
Of course, "trying" being the operative word, given they're as certifiably insane as any Fae would be, but they actually do pay attention to things like helping out those in need (granted, though they genuinely mean it, their idea of 'helping' is a little esoteric at times), showing compassion to one's enemies (Fae inherently liking conflict and becoming fond of worthy adversaries to the point where the distinction between best friends and sworn nemeses is academic at best definitely helps), reaching out to those who are outcasts, and believing that anyone can change and find redemption (they'll freely admit to having been a total bastard once, themself, before meeting the right people taught them empathy).
Bit of a paradox that they're closer to Christ's actual teachings and example than the people who have loudly appropriated the faith with their fucking megachurches and proclamations that empathy is "a disease", at least.
I like the idea of them having an altar, my Dad actually has a modest makeshift one in the living room. Consider it canon!

Yeah, they likely use the kindness as some kind of reward/positive reinforcement for those who "perform well", or as some kind of ploy to lower people's guards so they could push them from what I'm guessing.
Honestly, it's a pleasant irony that a True Fae is more Christ-like than the average human/mortal Christian who exploits and twists their beliefs into excuses for shitty actions.
Ooooo yeah! It would also make sense for them to likely be a bit more personal with their worship, seeing as quite a few Christian signatures curbstomp fae.

A little bit, but Paph mostly does things they believe are kind for its own sake. Their personal cheat code to the Law of Equivalent Exchange for a favor is asking people to pay it forward; it's technically tasking them with an equivalent service done... for someone else.
Unlike most Winter courtesans, Paph comforts the broken in addition to breaking the comfortable, rather than the latter alone. "Hmm? You say that house was part of your disgusting Airbnb hoard, before? Don't be ridiculous, the Cortez family's always lived there. You don't own anything at all. Enjoy the other side of the boot, bitch."
(Another cheat code for Fae, this one for working bigass changes, is swapping people's fates; it's the difference between preparing a new dish for one table vs. swapping the dishes between two. "Fae" and "fate" share a linguistic root for a reason.)
Yesh, while Paph can get Christ's teachings twisted themself, it's always an honest (if occasionally horrifying) mistake made while earnestly trying to live by those ideals, rather than a self-justification for doing horrible things to someone for its own sake.
While I stick to the idea that it's specifically a person possessing True Faith that can blast the supernatural (i.e. a literal Knight Templar or ascetic monk), a fucking True Fae showing up inside a church is probably going to unsettle a lot of people at best, because even people who aren't aware of the supernatural can still subconsciously tell something isn't right.
