Mallow’s Growth Journey: The Early Years (1/3) 🐾
Hi everyone! I’m starting a new mini-series of drawings to show how my OC, Mallow, grows up. This is the very first stage: Primary School!
Mallow is a little British cat living in the vast forests of Canada with her best friend Rena. For this project, I’m using a strict grid to keep her proportions consistent as she ages.
The Design Analysis:
Age: 6 years old (Grade 1).
Height: 80 cm. In my 20cm-square grid, she stands exactly 4 blocks tall.
Proportions: At this age, she’s in her "chibi" stage. Her head is 40 cm (2 blocks), making her a total of 2 heads tall.
Body: Her torso is a small 40x20 cm oval. Her waist is exactly half the width of her head, giving her that adorable, stout kitten look.
The Story: It’s the first day of school! Mallow is wearing her favorite explorer outfit—red neckerchief and boots included—because you never know when a biology lesson might turn into a forest adventure. She’s small, curious, and has no idea how much she’s about to grow (or how embarrassing those future biology books will be!).
Stay tuned for part 2, where we’ll see her "growth spurt" in secondary school!
