Sometime in the early 2010's I think, it has been a while and my memory is like a steel trap, rusted shut. Mother, now deceased, helped pay for a trip through her favorite places from when she was younger, the 1970's I recall. This is one of the ruins in Mesa Verde, if you have not been there do try to go before a certain politician slaps his name and face all over it.

It is on the top of a Mesa, at one point you can stop and see four different states from the overlook. Funny though, there are no lines telling you one state from another and the road up is winding and very narrow. Please do leave the 24 foot long mobile MacMansion behind, it will not make some of the turns.

Overnight stay is possible, real brass key for the door, real glass cups and almost no cell phone or wifi connection but beautiful views and very, very quiet. We have been twice, the second time they had walled off some of the ruins because people were leaving 'remembrances' of their visit, scratched in names and dates on the walls. Like that Chinese man in Egypt who wrote on a historic image because he thought it was fun.
