This is my first submission for
faccc I've been meaning to post something for ages but I never got around to it. so here we go. Folks who have met me at AC have had chances to try this cake, and I've actually traded it for art commissions more then once
German Apple Cake
3 peeled and sliced apples
3 tbl sugar
1 tbl cinnamon
3 cups flour
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup oil
4 eggs
1/2 cup Real OJ
2 1/2 tsp vanilla
Mix, apples, 3 tbl sugar, 1 tbl cinnamon and set aside
Place flour and baking powder in bowl
In separate bowl mix sugar, salt, and oil. Blend in eggs, one egg at a time before blending in orange juice and vanilla.
Gradually blend in flour, mix until smooth.
layer half of the batter in a greased bundt cake pan or spring form ring pan
add a layer of apples to the cake batter, make sure the apples do not touch the sides
pour the last of the batter in to the form to cover the apples
bake at 350 on lowest rack in the oven for 1 hour
I love this recipe it's a quick and delicious cake. when done right its a dense cake smiler to a pound cake, very sweet and moist. and a great breakfast cake.
also While I know I said grease the pan I myself prefer not to and rather spray Bakers Joy. Which is a cooking spray with flour mixed into it

I definitely do enjoy it, I've been a dealer with them ever since the first weekend.
The dealer's room is a decent size, the hotel staff absolutely loves us. There is an urchin..artist's alley, a decent number of classes/topics going on at all times, the charity auction is always awesome and fun to watch...and there's a decent number of places to eat that aren't fast food in the area.

Mmmm I love carmel that might be good. personaly I never top my apple cake cause the crust that forms,,, normaly the center is white this time since i didn't have the exact ingredients it came out a little differnt, but the brown crust that forms on the outside is crispy and sweet enough you don't need a topping but that carmel sounds good
