A new crew member for The Steadfast and a character I've wanted to draw for a really long time.Vera, one of two of The Steadfast's newest crewmen (they're at capacity, whoops!) - assigned aboard the ship by Orranian Naval brass after Sal and her crew joined the Orranian Freelance Armada, Vera is a quartermaster who maintains weapons, armor, EV suits, and if her assistance is not needed, will partake in other tasks like cooking, other maintenance, and keeping the ship running, ensuring everything is accounted for.

She lost her lower jaw, right side of her face, right eye, ear, arm, right ribcage, lung, breast, any associated musculature, and suffered spinal damage, in a catastrophic incident aboard a ship while handling explosive ordnance in the weapons bay. It is nothing short of a miracle that Vera survived with reparable brain damage and, upon cybernetic reconstruction, a wounded ego, but after months of recovery, rehabilitation and re-evaluation, going against the wishes of her superiors and psychiatrist, re-entered the Orranian Marine Corps. This was, after all, her favorite work, and she didn't want to do much else.

Vera is very obviously a Ru, from Orran, and a cisgender woman - and this is fairly easy to tell since Ru have different tusk placements based off their sex at birth.

Any extra lore like her clan/house will come at a later date, I'm still figuring things out. However, I'm excited to work on her counterpart, Jarron, who is another Marine that was stationed aboard The Steadfast (and one of the crewmen who rescued what remained of her when she had her catastrophic accident.)
A friend noted how funny it is that multiple members of The Steadfast are missing their right arm.
