Act Alpha: A Mother's Love

Before More, there was the little prince, in all his bright and shining innocence. He was happy, adored, and beloved by many. Loud as that love may have been, though, there was none that warmed his heart more than that of his own mother.

He loved nothing more than life itself, and she was the one who gave it to him. No matter how far Vexx might go or what he might become, he would never forget her. Indeed, it did not matter how much More the little fox might become; this was the one person he would always and forever look up to... for Mother is God in the eyes of a child.

The wise white wolf would do anything for her precious polar fox... and she did. She did everything for him. If given the chance, she always would.

This illustration has been a long time coming. I've been meaning to draw my mother's fursona for years, now. On the eve of her retirement, I saw no better opportunity to finally make it happen. I started the pic in November, she retired in December, and I finished it in January. Didn't mean for it to take this long. Not sure if I've ever put so much effort into an illustration before, but I couldn't help but give it my all. She means the world to me.

The role my mother's fursona plays in my creative universe is significant. She was there from the very beginning in Act Alpha when Vexx was first brought into existence, and she lives on in a number of other Acts that follow the birth of More. There's a lot to the story as to how she follows him across time and space that I look forward to getting into with you all. Her role in his story is much bigger than I have yet to reveal. If not for her, More would have never come to be... in more ways than one.

I'll be getting back to the HM1 stuff now. No more distractions. Sorry about that. Again, though, this distraction was warranted. It was to honor the one who brought me into this world. Without her, none of this would have happened. I needed to do something for her, and this was the most meaningful thing I was capable of.

A dream of us made real; a snapshot of our love that would outlast us all.
