The Prince of Nightmares (Sketch)
Been in the mood to draw a pinup of my boy Spectre from my Hollow Knight AU, and finally had the balls to do so.
My hand hurts.
But I'm proud of it.

Thanks! The wing patterns probably took me the longest to do, about 45 minutes for them alone. My hand hates me now but lots of folks I've shown this to like them so they were worth it lol.
As for the nail yeah, he has a second one in his other hand thats mostly obscured by the wings here, and this matching set are two of the five he owns. These ones are mostly for performance, designed to catch the light like most of his costume and have blinted edges. He has a narrow, short and straight one he uses for his sword swallowing act, and alternates between that act and this one during a normal run of the troupe's performances.
His main weapon though a single long nail he wears on the hip under his cloak when out and about. Its a hand and a half style so it can be used for a variety of techniques, and after story events is later modified with a groove down the center to hold oil for lighting the nail ablaze. The last blade is just a basic but effective knife he keeps on his person most of the time that he uses more as a tool than anything else.
Grimm raised him from a very young age and as he grew up and joined the performance side of the troupe, Grimm admittedly started splurging on him a bit. His cloak is finely made and dyed with a special red made from coral that is expensive and hard to get. Grimm in my AU has actually splurged quite a bit on his kids but they do definitely earn their keep.
