Today marks my 3rd year sober.

It’s wild, it feels like many years have passed and it’s only been that long. So much has changed since I quit drinking.

On nights when I was depressed, or blackout, or needed a good excuse to purge some emotions, I’d put on music. One of my favorites was “75 and Sunny” by Ryan Montbleau. It described how I felt in that moment, and what I desperately wished for. Now that I’m sober, the song has a more uplifting message. It gives me hope, even when I’m not feeling my best.

So I tossed together a quick sketch, using Procreate on my new iPad. I hope to redo this someday, maybe once I know the program a little more.

So yeah. Take care of yourselves. You are loved, things don’t have to be this way, and the world is NOT better off without you. Just remember that, even if it seems unlikely.
