this day was movie night!
saw a couple of japanese movies from the 90s: Picnic (1996) and Audition (1999)
Audition especially was one i'd been wanting to watch for a while, given it was hailed as a bit of a cult classic.
I can see why! definitely pretty outstanding and i can see how other media might have been indirectly influence by this movie. Pretty disturbing watch, but also some quite beautiful cinematography and use of color. Also some at times quite disjointed editing. Many of the still shots from this movie really make me want to pick up a pencil and do reference drawins of it, so many shots i loved!!
Ended up drawing my donkey fursonas dressed in Asami's iconic attire, with a tiny quote from her monologue at the main character :3
