Taking another look at this shot from 2017. 🐆
The lighting conditions back then were brutal (harsh noon sun), and my old Canon 700D was pushed to its absolute limits. The raw file simply didn't have the dynamic range for a purely "natural" recovery.
So instead of fighting the grain and the blown-out highlights, I decided to lean into it. I chose a heavy, artistic edit with high contrast and a moody background to emphasize the shape and the playful pose, rather than trying to force realism where the data just wasn't there.
Sometimes you have to trade technical perfection for atmosphere! ✨
