Why exercise when you can buy a low-carb diet? Why learn a skill when a computer application can fake it for you? Why recycle when you can believe that everything you throw out never comes back? Why care about your health when you'll die in the end anyway? Why care what happens in the world if you can convince yourself a politician will take care of it all for you? It goes on, and on... One of the largest problems I see in society is the selling and embracing (mostly the selling) of the concept that all the little responsible things you might do to increase the quality of your life are... unnecessary.

I love unnecessary. Effort is free. The rewards are deep. The improvement immeasurable.
