I realized I had forgot to make a design for the Marine Variant of the Valtanni. It may be a magic induced transformation but they are now a unique variation of the species and deserve to be documented.

One particular group of Valtannin came together under the teachings of a master of Water Magic who learned how to use cellular transformation and body crafting. She used her ability to gift her followers with aquatic forms that could survive in the sea and created a hidden underwater kingdom under her rule for the Sanctuary and Protection of other Hybrids. She tries to make their new existence the best she can make for her subjects and has agents working on the surface to locate and rescue other Hybrids in need of help and guidance, and direct them to the coast of her hidden kingdom where they can be escorted to the hidden city under the waves.

Their adaptations include External Gills, Webbed front toes, rear fins, Wings adapted for cutting through the water, and a Dorsal fin at the end of their tail. Their internal structure has also changed a bit to be able to withstand changes in pressure moving from the shallows to the ocean deep but they are not adapted quite as well yet as the Yiaantani because it is still a physical adaptation. Their Queen does not yet poses the knowledge or ability to to change their natural levitation magic to a density control but the Valtannin are much smaller that the Yiaantani and are more comfortable breaching the water and taking to the air when it pleases them.

One challenge that posed to the Marine Valtannin is that while trying to remain hidden it's likely that further generations will not be able to obtain Elemental power since they rely on exposing eggs to the moon in order to complete the ritual. Their eggs are not completely waterproof still possessing similar qualities to their land counterparts and can not withstand the rapid change of pressure passing through the ocean in order to make it to where the moon is visible. Then if they can make it up to the surface, staying up long enough to expose their eggs to the moon poses the risk of being sighted and discovered which will put them all in danger.

Without Elemental powers the Valtannin worry about how long they will be able to sustain their way of life as some are very vital to their survival in the depths, and their Queen needs her water element in order to induce the transformation that allows more Valtannin from the land to join them. If she can not pass on her skill then the technique will be lost and they will be forced to refuse help to any more Valtannin that might need them.
