Been toying around in Hero Forge recently and working on OC with a bit of backstory. English isn't my first language, so apologies if there are some rough edges. 😅

Reyna comes from extended foxfolk family originally from the unknown lands to the east which has lived a wandering lifestyle for generations. Having their own cultural, spiritual and magical traditions, their coexistence with the general population hasn't been without issues. Yet, they have managed to make a living through variety of means - sometimes legal, sometimes not.

Situation got worse, when a family of powerful nobles took power after a period of civil war, starting a new era of the Imperial rule emphasizing unified nation. Reyna's people living on the fringes of society without permanent residence or any particular loyalty to the new ruling family stood out like a sore thumb, which eventually lead to a period of active persecution, scattering the survivors across the Imperial lands and neighbouring regions.

This history affected also the childhood and upbringing of Reyna, who tried to make her living in the shadow of the persecution and prejudice. When the Empire tried to assert its power against one of the neighbouring countries, the perceived need for national unity resulted in a new series of repressive policies, causing Reyna to finally pick up both blade and magic against the rule of the Imperial family.
