I just discovered that the Bevel node in shaders is VERY useful! I couldn't imagine it creating such beauty, although in modifiers it serves a completely different function
Basically, if you need to smooth fur with a body in Cycles rendering, use a Bevel node connected to the normals! I'm almost certain it can be combined with a normal map (I'll check that later)
BUT, BEVEL TAKES TIME OUT OF THE RENDER. It took me 3 seconds with 2 shader samples. In any case, it was worth it. I'll check if I can bake these normals, but in any case, it works well!
