Gas Bag aliens are a very strange type of being.
Here is a sketchbook drawing of one.
Typically found on planets of the gas giant variety, these aliens simply float and fly with the great winds. Many of them are filled with hydrogen, meaning an explosive demise for it and anything or anyone nearby if it’s poked too hard. Sapience of these is often questionable, but not out of the picture.

* sometimes multiple unique societies can rise and fall on a gas bag.
* a sapient gas bag of the hydrogen-filled variety was once invited to a new year’s celebration on a volcanic planet’s orbital anniversary. Nobody returned home that night.
