some of the jobs i was applying for required at least some degree of knowledge about ICS and OT (Operational Technology), basically any kind of system designed for consistent operation for lenthy periods of time, with a wide variation in purpose and functionality (power grid, wastewater pumps, filtration systems, assembly lines, robotics, building automation systems, and any other adjacent devices used for controlling them eg SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, etc)
All of this to say, once again, this is a topic i am in no means an expert in, but it's one more thing i decided to give a cursory view to at least have some notion for interviews... the deepest i probably dared going was looking at packet captures of Modbus over TCP, which to be fair wasn't all that crazy.
It all amounted to me watching a bunch of SANS videos on ICS lol
in order to conmemorate my studying of these subjects for this day, i drew my donkey fursona in the scenario of explaining the "Rockwell Retro Encabulator", which ironically, Rockwell is one of the most well known brands that interface with ICS systems, hence why this drawing seemed fitting!
If you've never seen the Retro Encabulator video, I would recommend it, it is quite the treat! hehe

haha i had not though about that link to Star Trek but for sure i can see it! the script for that video has that familiar "climax technobable solution scene" famously from that show !
and i've never done anything related to aviation but it makes sense that it would be full of funny names and weird specificities to things xwx
