Some shows try to replicate a very specific experience. When I was in highschool, after a long day of dealing with highschool nonsense, it was nice to be able to spend time with friends and carve out a little place for ourselves to get away from everything for a little while. It was nice to get some food, sit down and talk about whatever random things popped into our heads. And I know that's not unique to me--if you've experienced some facsimile of that in your life, then I think there's something to enjoy in See You Tomorrow at the Food Court.
