Day 469 - January 16th, 2742

More soldiers arrived over the last few days, I'd say the amount of STEEL soldiers has nearly doubled from what it was when Lily and I first arrived here. And honestly, I'm not feeling safe going out anymore, but I gotta keep my eyes on the ground.

STEEL has also enacted a curfew after a local resident fought back against an arrest with a smuggled weapon. Everyone not working has to be home by 8pm, and lights out by 10pm.

Many protested, and even held demonstrations around STEEL barracks and depots. But they were quickly dispatched and forced to dispand. Often times by facing down the barrel of a gun.

Thankfully, nobody was killed, but quite a few ended up in hospital. Mostly due to the brutality of STEEL. Once they got a hold of someone, they were a punching bag until they decided to stop, which wasn't quickly.

I did try to stay out of the protests so as to not draw attention to myself, and met up with the Mayor to discuss the recent events. She reassured me that this was anticipated given the level of chaos we unleashed. Still its hard to observe. Kind of glad that Lily has locked herself away with that computer of hers, away from the ongoings of the city, because she would be absolutely livid at what she would be seeing.

But then again, she is monitoring STEEL's comms too, so she probably isn't oblivious to it, just insulated. Likely for the best. As much as it pains me, I am able to keep my head down here. I don't think Lily has such restraint yet.

Still, it appears to be just a waiting game now to see what else STEEL does. Part of me hates the idea of sitting around, as all my life I've been on the move or working towards something. But this time it might be for the better. Lily has been doing alright, but I can tell she is still rattled with everything.

I think I should just spend more time with Lily, even if I'm not doing anything.
