Hello everycreature again! I'm back with a new artwork. This is already the third one of 2026! This time featuring Cassie from Dragon Tales after a long while.
Back in 2019, before I got my drawing tablet and I was still drawing on paper and using Paint.Net to transfer and digitize my artworks, I made this drawing of Cassie. In its moment it was the peak of my skill and a lot of people loved it. Especially because there weren't a lot of artworks of her in that moment (probably neither now). So, I was waiting to create a new version of that artwork, a properly made remake, but I didn't have enough inspiration or a good idea to make that a reality until a great friend helped me a few weeks ago. This artwork should have be done a week ago or so, but I got the flu and I was feeling sick for a few days. Even though I returned to work last Tuesday I was still able to finish this up in a short time.
This artwork was really interesting and fun to do. Drawing with black lines is an art style I really want to improve for not MLP art in the future, but it can be challenging because I need to draw with thinner lines which is still really hard for my current skill. Anyways, I'm really happy with what I was able to do here. All the detail of the background, the plants, the rocks, the different layers were something completely key for a better and most appropriate result. The shading was also important, even though I'm still not a master in terms of applying lights and shadows, but I think the result was pretty decent. In my opinion this is a perfect remake of the original picture and I hope not only you like it as much as I do, but also that I can continue making amazing art like this in 2026!
So, I guess the mystery of the dragon scale is solved :P What do you think?
