Well, the plan to find a new front desk clerk has worked well. Ollie Shepherd and his recruiting knowledge has paid off and yielded thousands of applications for a the front desk job at the Fort Coyote Motor Inn Motel. With a rough job market in the area, most of the candidates are qualified for the job, but Milton the Manager now has to handle thousands of applications to figure out who to even interview; Itasca and Ollie have a few unique ideas to quickly eliminate lots of applications and resumes from the pile.

This is a frame from the upcoming animation project I am working on that where Milton the Manager needs to hire a new front desk clerk for the overnight shift, but his method of a two line classified help wanted ad hasn't worked out too well. Luckily Ollie's past and present in the corporate world has a few tricks to quickly get lots of applications to a job.

This one has been fun to revisit now that I have stable employment again. When I first started writing this script I was in the midst of a brutal job search in the summer of 2025 and upon rereading my first draft I felt it was too hostile and negative and too realistic. So with reworking the script, I've opted to focus on more of the absurdity of trying to find a job, but from the perspective of the hiring team who are following trends on professional social media.
