A reference guide to the larger species of conchin. The shorthair is the smallest in this group, whilst the Pharaoh is the largest conchin species known. (I've been planning to make more.)
Short-Haired:
The most intelligent species of conchin, however, they rarely hunt because they find the trading company more reliable. This species can weigh between 10-15 lbs, and grows 2-3 1/2 ft tall. From nose to tail, they are 4-5 ft. (females are the larger sex)
They are also the slowest of conchins, running only 40 mph, and any mutts mixed with this species will be cursed for they can run fast, but will most likely have life-threatening heart problems or asthma.
Long-Haired:
Being the top jewelry and nest decor producers, it's no surprise that this is the richest species of conchin. (The Currency is in concept currently) Long haired conchins are river otters at heart, and will dive underwater for fish. Thus, they have webbed paws that only show when swimming. They can stay below the surface for around seven minutes, and catch fish, crabs, crayfish, clams or vegetation.
They can weigh in to a whopping 19-20 lbs, and they have no need for speed above land. Most of their "running" is done under the water, where they can swim up to 60 mph to catch the faster prey or evade predators. They can also be 2-3 ft tall, but they are bulkier and have larger muscles than their cousins. They are slender and in length can be 6ft long.
Pharaoh:
The fastest species of conchin (80 mph). They are large in chest and rib cage so that they may expand their lungs to twice their size while running to regulate heartbeat, thus, their heart will not explode. Though it seems that they are wispy little bags of bones, on contrary, they are powerful fighters and hunters and are fantastic predators of the desert. They enjoy wearing feathers in their fur, or in large headdresses, and will wear glass bracelets on ankles, wrists, or tail. They can be 3-4ft tall, but weigh only 10lbs because of their skinny body.
Nyx:
The most aggressive species, mostly because of being the weapon and armor smiths. Most generals or captains are placed as Nyx conchin when a war is up. Don't screw with these guys unless you want your head ripped off. But, like other conchins, they have emotions and make the best of mothers. They are a nocturnal species that will do most of its activity at dusk, night and dawn. Their main prey is birds, but they will settle for bird eggs, snakes, lizards or small mammals. Nyx are second in speed to the Pharaoh, running up to 70 mph, only when needed because they have weak hearts, and their chests are too small to handle such pressure. Wherever this anatomical flaw came from, none will know for sure. They can weigh 15-20 lbs, be as tall as 3ft and are 5ft long. Yet very rarely will they reach full size because of the predators that invade their territory, whom would enjoy a nice tasty pup for brunch. Also, the nyx are famous for their war paint and feathered tails and wrists, much like the pharaohs. However, the nyx's feathers are more colorful and it makes them looks venomous.
