The smaller species of conchin are by no account any less than the larger, if not better. They are strong, powerful creatures with several talents that the larger conchins cannot occupy.
Pygmy (Cave):
Approximately half the size of average conchins, pygmies are known for their stubby legs and ability to squeeze into tight spaces. They have very long, spindly tails and spend their days digging mines under Rosebark and other regions outside it. Since their tails are so spindly, they often break off and the conchin is left with a stub of a tail the rest of their life--although they never feel pain when they lose it. Pygmy conchins have two extra notches on their ears, which allows them not to hear the echoing when they speak or the constant drumming of rock. This can also cause a problem, however, with the many cave-ins working in the mines. They also have long tufts of fur on their paws, and very sturdy claws. They spend most of their lives underground, and going into sunlight often causes their bodies to shut down after an hour. Two hours in the sun often leads to death. Due to their lack of light, they have very bad eyesight--for half the population is blind--and most have severe overbites from carrying rocks and lanterns in their mouths. Pygmies have strangely light colored pelts but faded eye colors, because of the chemicals they experience underground. They are often enthusiastic and love helping others. Being the smallest species means that they are around 1ft tall, sometimes smaller. They weigh 5-10 lbs, but can run up to 60 mph, making them the third fastest. (Created by Emberwood on WCF)
Long-Eared:
A once-proud species, the long-eared conchin was a very smart breed of Conchin. They had extremely good hearing and they often played music and made instruments. They were very romantic, and the males would often dance and charm the ladies. As their name implies, they have beautiful long ears. They were very numerous in the earlier days, and their coats were bright and silky. Their ears could be used as blankets, keeping them warm in the winter. Long-Eared Conchins, though, were considered extinct by the time Ira was born. But some say they retreated underground, where their ears would be extremely helpful where eyesight could not reach. Their genetic traits can be seen in several species of conchin today, such as Shata. It is also said that, if you listen closely, you can still hear the music playing from the underground tunnels today. They are the largest in this group, being 2-3ft tall, but only weighing 10lbs on average. They can run up to 55 mph, but rarely need to because of their fun and fancy free personalities. Tree:
A tree conchin spends most of it's life in, well, a tree. ;D They mostly rely on their hearing and sight though. They have big ears for very good hearing, but they don't have the best hearing ever, but it's still better then usual hearing. However, they do have the sharpest sight. Tree conchin's usually live in the environment of a jungle, with a veriety of trees! (: They usually make their homes in hollowed out trees, and lone tree conchins usually sleep on a sturdy branch. They are long limbed and thin, so they are quick and light on their feet, for running on thin branches and vines. They are not nocturnal, but do like to stay up later than usual. (: Their diet is mostly fruits and bugs. Their colors are usually brown to match with trees. But rarely they can be green. They're eyes are usually brown, but you cant really tell until up close, since they have enormous pupils.
They too are great climbers, but unlike the nyx, they enjoy basking in the sunlight and will go out onto the beach and take a nap there, thus they have better moods than nyx. They are the most peaceful and independent species, and are known to meditate for days without food. This village is the only village inside a tropical rainforest, and most of their emissaries are parrots. This is possibly the most unnatural territory. Large bugs make their home here, and these are the tree conchin's prey. Like their name implies, they live most of their lives in the trees in tree houses or large cavities. They are the top fruit producers because of all the fruit trees that grow there. They are always flawless cooks, and grow spices of all sorts, and these too are shipped around the conchin world. They are second smallest, weighing between 7lbs and 10lbs. They can be 2ft tall, and run up to 60 mph. (Created by Papayapaw The Second)
That's one big hunk of writing for the tree conchin.
